The City of Creve Coeur Economic Development Committee recognized the winners of the fourth annual Creve Coeur Business Awards during a ceremony on Thursday, May 16, at the Creve Coeur–Olivette Chamber Membership Luncheon. The winner for each category was announced, including:

HEART OF THE COMMUNITY AWARD 2019

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital
Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital has been a member of the Creve Coeur community since 1969, providing highly specialized care to the St. Louis region—but this organization stands out for the many ways they give back to the community. During the past year, these health care professionals have offered hundreds of free flu shots and health screenings, donated more than 400 gifts to the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery, and have partnered with the Parkway School District to offer shadowing opportunities to students interested in the health care field. GREEN BUSINESS AWARD 2019

Poké Munch
Selected by popular vote, this year’s winner is new to Creve Coeur, opening just last fall. Within that short amount of time, Poké Munch has quickly become a fan favorite in the community. They are known for their fresh, flavorful dishes that are both healthy and delicious—made with high quality ingredients, and with high quality service to match. Poké Munch was also awarded the Green Business Award for its proactive steps to make sustainability a part of its business practices. This business has incorporated numerous environmentally friendly features into its building, including a power-saving tankless water heater, high-efficiency water faucets, and recyclable and compostable dinnerware. MOST INNOVATIVE BUSINESS AWARD 2019

The Yield Lab
The Yield Lab is a part of the growing 39 North Ag-Tech district, and is working to connect entrepreneurs with agriculture technology companies. This company reviews hundreds of applications per year, but only selects about a half-a-dozen companies to invest in as part of their accelerator program. Beyond the initial investment, this accelerator program also provides the selected companies with dedicated staff members to help shape their market strategy and introduce them to the market. For their efforts to revolutionize the agriculture industry, The Yield Lab was awarded the Most Innovative Business Award. “I would like to congratulate the winning businesses for this well-deserved recognition,” said Mayor Barry Glantz. “They have demonstrated a commitment to this community that goes above and beyond, showing what it means to be an outstanding Creve Coeur business.”

The annual awards program recognizes local businesses for their outstanding innovation and contributions to the Creve Coeur community. All Creve Coeur businesses were eligible to be nominated.
