The Fiscal Year 2019 Annual Report was recently released, detailing accomplishments of the city’s boards and commissions, volunteers and departments from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019.
According to the report, the city benefited from approximately 100 volunteers whose 2,370 hours of work ranged from assisting at city events to managing the gardens in city parks. The city also received significant assistance through grants totaling $1,256,650.
Fiscal Year 2019 brought recognition for several city programs and initiatives. The Finance Department was recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), receiving the FY18 Popular Annual Financial Report Award, the FY18 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report Award, and the FY19 Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. The City also received the Outstanding Local Government Award from the East-West Gateway Council of Governments for its partnership with local organizations and stakeholders to create the 39 North Master Plan and strengthen the district as a global hub for the plant science industry.
