The city updates its five-year capital improvement program (CIP) every year. An important part of this annual process includes gathering ideas for projects from Creve Coeur residents.
Capital improvements include projects such as the construction of sidewalks, installation of park amenities, street resurfacing and improvements to the stormwater system. Funding for capital projects comes from the city’s half-cent capital improvement sales tax, grants and transfers from the general fund. The capital budget for this fiscal year is approximately $9.5 million which includes the Police Building Fund and Debt Service. The annual CIP expenditures typically range between $2.7 and $3.7 million.
The Planning and Zoning Commission is expected to be presented with a draft CIP in March 2020 and will make a recommendation to the City Council. The City Council will then hold work sessions to review the proposed CIP update.
A public hearing will be advertised and held by the City Council before final adoption. The deadline to submit project ideas was January 31, 2020. If you have any questions, please contact Matt Wohlberg, City Engineer, at mwohlberg@crevecoeurmo.gov.
