This spring, the City will solicit bids for Phase 1 of the Millennium Park Project, with construction anticipated to begin in September 2023 and continue into spring 2024.
Key elements of Phase 1 include a new playground area that is 1.6 times larger than the existing playground area, a new splash pad that is 2.5 times larger than the existing splash pad, and a bandstand for summer concerts. Additional Phase 1 objectives include improving connectivity within the park, improving site grading, and creating a new entry plaza.
The estimated cost of Phase 1 improvements is $2.5 million. Funding for the Millennium Park Project will come from the parks and stormwater sales tax, approved by voters in 2020.
The City Council adopted the Millennium Park Master Plan in 2021, following months of review and input from Creve Coeur residents, City staff and park stakeholders. The plan builds upon the general recommendations of the Creve Coeur Parks Master Plan adopted in 2019.
