[ARCHIVED] P&Z Commission Reviewing Zoning Ordinance for Updates

Planning and Zoning Updates

The Planning and Zoning Commission will begin reviewing the City’s zoning ordinance to identify areas which need to be updated in response to the recommendations of the City’s comprehensive plan, Creve Coeur 2030, which was adopted by the Commission last year. Updating the City’s regulatory ordinances to implement the recommendations of the plan is one of eight Early Action Items identified in the plan, many of which have already been implemented.

“This is a major undertaking that will require significant investment of time by the Commission and staff but is needed to fulfill the vision and goals of the plan,” said Jason Jaggi, Director of Community Development.

The Commission is expected to begin its review of the zoning ordinance over a period of several months beginning in August. The Commission discussed setting aside one meeting a month to focus on the zoning ordinance revisions with the commercial and light industrial districts being reviewed initially. When the Commission’s review is complete, public hearings will be scheduled for public review and comment for those sections that have been amended.
